PHILOSOPHY

We recognize God as the Creator of all things and Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Savior of all who acknowledge him as Lord. We hold that the knowledge of God is the beginning of wisdom, that each student is uniquely created by God as a physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual being and is endowed with particular talents. Therefore, the aim of CBS (functioning as an extension of the home and church) is to aid each student to grow in understanding God and man and to develop his capabilities to the highest degree in order that he may become mature and complete and live life to its fullest in Christ.

Dear Parents, As we enter flu season, protecting your child’s health and safety are of top concern for all of us at Curtis Baptist School.

The influenza A (H1N1) virus is thought to be spread the same way that seasonal flu is spread.  The flu virus is typically spread from person to person when an infected person coughs or sneezes.  People also become infected when the virus gets on their hands and they rub their eyes or nose.  With this in mind, below are several everyday actions we can take to help prevent the spread of flu and to stay healthy:
  • Encourage children to cover their nose and mouth with the inside of the elbow when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash hands frequently.
  • Use hand sanitizers and disposable sanitizing wipes to clean surfaces.
  • Do not send children to school with a fever of 100 degrees or greater.  Keep children with flu-like illness at home so they do not infect others.
  • Sick children should not return to school or participate in any school-related activities putting them in contact with others until they have been fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication for at least 24 hours.

Reporting Procedures:  Please notify the school if your child has a diagnosed case of H1N1 for our records.
